diana fayt

Growing up my Mom decided it would be a great idea if each of us girls had a collection. My Mom collected chickens, she had paintings, sculpture, even the wallpaper in the kitchen was covered in chickens. My sister Haley it was decided would collect music boxes, Britt would collect pieces for her dollhouse and pigs, Quinn collected cabbage patch dolls and I collected angels (I was a bit of a holy roller as a kid). This lasted until I was about 18 when we moved and my angel collection was boxed up and mostly given away.
Now that I'm on my own, I'd like to start a new collection, starting with artist Diana Fayt's ceramics. Thanks to my good friend Tia (she bought me a bowl for my birthday). I'm on my way!

lampshade

Thanks to Design Sponge I just ordered this fantastic lampshade from a little blog site called Another Shade of Grey. Hand drawn in graphite by artist Julie Mcmillon. She has a few different styles you can check out on her blog. this one with the little bird reminds me of East Coast winters, which are easy to forget living in California, always nice to have something to remind you of your roots.

ShopBop

ShopBop is the most fabulous shop on the web for the latest trendy designers! Here are a few dresses from Sunner, Charlotte Ronson, Lauren Moffatt and Mara Hoffman. I am really into dresses this Fall, so easy to slip on and go. I just need some fab shoes to finish it off. Love these Marc Jacobs pumps, Charlotte Ronson wedges and of course Frye boots. Did I mention these outfits are for the Life I cannot afford to live.

My Favorite Artist

Tiny artwork and little birds are quite the trend these days but artist Amy Ruppel was doing it before anyone else. I have been coveting one of her pieces for months now, so my fingers are crossed that the hubby will come through on our anniversary in September. You can buy her work on Velocity Art and Design, which is a fantastic site for art and design, duh!
